NXT kicks off with highlights from NXT Takeover Dallas. Later tonight Apollo Crews will face off with Elias Samson.
NXT correspondent Cathy Kelly notes that Apollo Crews debuted on Monday night Raw this pass week.
The first set of highlights focused on the NXT tag team title Match between the champions The Revival and the challengers American Alpha. American Alpha won the match after Jordan surprised Dash with a spear in the corner followed by their finisher. American Alpha has officially reached the pinnacle of the NXT tag team division.
Backstage Jason Jordan says it took a lot of hard work to get to this point. Chad Gable notes that it is extra special because they failed so many times in the past but once they got together they finally won the big one.
Up next the NXT women’s championship was on the line when the champion Bayley faced off against the challenger Asuka. After a highly competitive match, Bayley passed out while trapped in the Asuka lock.
Backstage after the match Bayley says congratulations to Asuka. She notes that Asuka had a counter for everything she tried. Maybe she wasn’t properly prepared to face her. Bayley feels like she let everyone down. A champion knows how to pick themselves up and keep fighting. She will be back.
