WWE Looking to Fill NXT Spots After Recent Call-Ups

WWE NXT is going through big changes after WrestleMania 42, mainly because of several major call-ups. Many top stars have moved to RAW and SmackDown, which has left NXT in a rebuilding phase. But this also opens the door for new talent to step up and get noticed.

In the past few weeks, NXT has lost several top stars. Ethan Page and Joe Hendry have already made their debut on WWE RAW. Some have moved to SmackDown. Names like Oba Femi, Trick Williams, and Je’Von Evans also moved on earlier, leaving a big void in the roster. The main event scene has changed, with Tony D’Angelo now holding the title after many of his top rivals left.

The women’s division has also been affected. Sol Ruca moved to RAW, while Fatal Influence and Blake Monroe moved to SmackDown. This has made the division smaller, but it also gives new wrestlers a chance to step up.

WWE officials discuss the need for new talent in NXT

Because of these changes, Shawn Michaels, along with Matt Bloom and General Manager Robert Stone, talked about the situation backstage. In a newly released video by WWE, they can be seen talking about these call-ups.

Stone mentioned that they got “big shoes to fill” and maybe they need “one or two fresh new faces, maybe from EVOLVE.” Bloom mentions LFG also has many “international talents just looking for their chance.”

Michaels acknowledges their suggestions and says that NXT “has been through this before many times.” He then suggests that Stone create high-stakes opportunities to see who steps up.

“Now you can put some names on some little pieces of index cards. You can put some pictures on your white board and continue taking phone calls. Or you can throw a piece of dynamite in that freaking locker room and see who the hell runs out,” Michaels said.

Looking ahead, there are a few interesting storylines and promising talents. There is DarkState that is going through some tension. In the women’s division, Kendal Grey and Kali Armstrong could step into bigger roles.

For the main event scene, Tony D’Angelo now has new challengers. Wrestlers like Keanu Carver, Shiloh Hill, and Myles Borne could step up. There are also reports about NJPW star EVIL possibly joining. NXT is also bringing in Lizzy Rain.
