Some major changes are reportedly in store for WWE SmackDown.
According to WrestleVotes Radio, via Fightful Select, WWE is considering a roster shakeup on the blue brand, with a major NXT name and a Hall of Famer discussed as potential additions.
“A number of names have been discussed for a roster include Jacy Jayne and Rey Mysterio possibly appearing on the brand,” the report noted.
Jacy Jayne is a former multi-time NXT Women’s Champion. Rey Mysterio is currently part of the WWE RAW roster. The WWE Hall of Famer was also part of the chaotic six-pack ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 42 Sunday.
As for the overall presentation, SmackDown’s theme song, set design, and logo are expected to remain unchanged.
It is worth noting that the RAW after WrestleMania featured a strong NXT presence. Former NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca appeared on the show to challenge Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship. Sol lost the match following a run-in by ZARIA.
Elsewhere on the show, former NXT Champion Ethan Page surfaced to set up a match against Je’Von Evans. Page won the match, potentially positioning himself as the next challenger to Intercontinental Champion Penta.
