Saraya Makes Major Progress With In-Ring Comeback

Former AEW star Saraya is making some significant progress with her in-ring comeback.

Saraya has been out of action since leaving AEW in March 2025. As she had noted before, she took 2025 off to rediscover her love for wrestling and resumed her in-ring training earlier this year. She has been training with independent wrestler Vipress, who mostly competes for GCW.

Now, she has shared another update on X/Twitter. Saraya has made significant progress in her training as she performed her first neck nip-up in a decade. It was neck issues that led to her first retirement in 2018. She returned to in-ring competition after joining AEW in 2022 and even went on to hold the company’s Women’s World Championship the following year.

“First neck nip up in a decade! We building her back up babayyy!” she wrote.

Wrestling fans expected to see Saraya at the WWE Royal Rumble last month after seeing her training videos, but she did not return at the event. Recent reports also revealed that the company did not approach her for the PLE.

Saraya names which NXT stars are the future of WWE’s women’s division

During a recent interview with Poker Scout, Saraya revealed Sol Ruca, Tatum Paxley, and Blake Monroe as the NXT stars who she believes are the future of WWE’s women’s division.

“I’ve had a wonderful year to dip my toe into the outside of the wrestling world, and it’s been so wonderful, and I have loved it, and I have enjoyed it. But once you’re a wrestler, you always miss it. I am starting to get the bug for it again, because I went for a stage where I fell out of love with it for a second, and I’m just like, I need to take a break from it, and that was the whole goal,” Saraya said.
