Saraya has shared an update on her in-ring return with the WWE Royal Rumble fast approaching.
Former AEW star Saraya (Paige in WWE) has been out of action since she left Tony Khan’s promotion in March 2025. She has been on record saying she wanted to take 2025 off to get her outside affairs in order. However, she wanted to start training in January 2026.
Well, she’s training again!
Saraya took to X/Twitter to post a clip of her working the ring with independent wrestler Vipress, who mostly appears in Game Changer Wrestling. She noted that she’s getting some ring rust off by resuming her training.
“Oh you know.. just getting some ring rust off with my girl @_VIPRESS.”
With the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble only a week away, Saraya’s return to the ring has sparked speculation among fans about her potential comeback as Paige.
Saraya still has aspirations to face Mercedes Moné
During a recent conversation with WrestleZone (via PokerScout), Saraya addressed a potential WWE return and whether she’s open to working the independent scene. She said she’s keeping her options open regarding the indies and noted she might take bookings in 2026. She also hailed Mercedes Moné for doing some great work outside AEW.
“Yeah, I always think about different scenarios,” Saraya admitted. “And with the Indies, I’ve had a lot of indie companies reach out to me constantly. Like, my inbox is always full with indie people wanting to book me and stuff. But I wanted to take this year to do nothing. That’s not saying that I wouldn’t take that opportunity in 2026.
“We’re keeping the options open for if I do want to come back. And I do want to get back in the ring again. So I potentially would go to the Indies. Absolutely. I’m seeing what Mercedes Moné is doing. And she’s elevating every company that she’s going in, and she’s doing wonderful things. So maybe I’ll hop on that Moné Train,” Saraya said.
