AEW Dynamite Results:

This week’s episode of Dynamite kicks off with Kenny Omega in action against Rocky Romero.

Kenny Omega vs. Rocky Romero

  • The finish of the match saw Kenny Omega hit Rocky Romero with the One-Winged Angel to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kenny Omega

After the match, Tony Schiavone enters the ring to interview Omega. Schiavone announces that the winner of tonight’s main event between Swerve Strickland and Andrade El Idolo will face him next week. The two top contenders will face each other at Grand Slam Australia for a shot at the AEW World Championship at Revolution.

Kenny Omega says he hates to repeat himself, but this is the best he’s felt in a long time. Omega says it doesn’t matter if he has to go through someone he loves or hates, he will be the AEW World Champion once again.

This brings out Hangman Page, who says Kenny looks good. Page says, truth be told, after all these years, he’d rather be fighting beside him than fighting against him, but with the World Title at stake? So be it. Hangman admits he overlooked Samoa Joe and The Opps and was thinking about defending it against other people like Omega.

Hangman says with as much fire and passion as Omega has right now, he’s not going to be the next champion. Page says the next champion won’t be Andrade or Swerve, it’s going to be him. They are interrupted by Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana. Strickland says he came back to AEW for a World Championship, and he hasn’t been beaten since he’s been back. Swerve believes he has just as much of a right to the World Title as they do.

A lot of people are talking

Strickland says it doesn’t matter who he has to go through to get what he wants and says it can be against anybody as he stares down Omega. Kenny says he does a pretty good job at reading the room, and he feels like there’s a little bit of animosity here, questioning if Swerve is looking for a fight. Strickland says more than Kenny knows.

This brings out Don Callis, who says Swerve can enjoy being undefeated until Andrade beats him tonight. Callis says when Andrade beats Swerve, he’s coming for Kenny. Callis teases that he has something special planned for Hangman Page. Omega says Callis wants to talk about what everyone has to be worried about, but maybe he should worry about himself. Omega jets up the aisle after Callis and chases him into the backstage area.

Grade: B+

Honestly, there wasn’t much of a match to grade. So I guess I’m combining it with the promo, after that was longer than the match itself. I like that there are multiple people going after the World Title, and AEW has a plan in place to determine the next number one contender.

The AEW Women’s World Title is on the line later this evening

We get a video package hyping tonight’s AEW Women’s World Title match between Kris Statlander and Thekla.

AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Ace Austin

  • The finish of the match saw Jon Moxley hit Ace Austin with the Death Rider to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Jon Moxley

After the match, Konosuke Takeshita gets in the ring and stares down Moxley. Takeshita makes it clear he wants the Continental Championship. Jake Doyle and Mark Davis attack Moxley from behind and lay him out as Takeshita walks away.

Grade: B+

Very fun match between Moxley and Austin. I hope we see a lot more of Austin on AEW programming in 2026. This was a good start. I think Takeshita is an appropriate challenger for Moxley’s title, which could once again lead to a Unified Title situation if his endgame is to stand across the ring from Kazuchika Okada again. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

AEW TNT Championship: Mark Briscoe (c) vs. El Clon (w/ Don Callis)

  • The finish of the match saw Mark Briscoe catch El Clon with a deep rollup to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still TNT Champion, Mark Briscoe

After the match, Briscoe gets on the microphone and says he’s not ducking or diving as a champion, and he’ll be defending the TNT Championship on Saturday night at Collision. Briscoe issues an open challenge for Collision from anyone not in the Don Callis Family.

The lights go out, and it leads to the AEW debut of Tommaso Ciampa. The match is on for this Saturday night on Collision!

Grade: B+

Another fun matchup. The aftermath leading to the debut of Tommaso Ciampa was a fantastic moment. Ciampa looked amped as hell to be there, and I’m really excited for his match with Briscoe this weekend on Collision. That should be a certified banger!

Peace in the Don Callis Family?

Renee Paquette is backstage with Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada. Kazuchika says that a few weeks ago, Fletcher told Callis someone needed to say something to him, but he wants to say something first. Okada says when he used the screwdriver at Worlds End, he wasn’t doing it to try and screw Fletcher, and he was hoping they could face each other in the finals. Okada apologizes.

Kyle Fletcher says he was very angry, but it takes a big man to apologize, and he accepts Okada’s apology. The two men shake hands, and Fletcher leaves.

MJF has something to say, but so does Brody King

AEW World Champion MJF makes his way to the ring and runs down the city. He’s immediately interrupted by Brody King. Friedman tells the truck to cut his music. MJF says apparently King is as deaf as he is big and stupid. King gets on the apron, and MJF backs out on the opposite one.

They both eventually enter the ring as MJF cautiously stays away from King. MJF says he made it clear last week that if King wants a shot at the title, he needs to beat someone who matters. Friedman buries Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews for very different reasons.

Friedman turns his attention to Bandido and tells King he has an idea, and suggests he’ll pay him to protect him. MJF says he’ll have to improve his look, but the idea of beating him to hold the World Title is just a dream. Friedman says to be a World Champion, you need to be a leader like him and calls King a follower.

King says he doesn’t need to follow anyone; what MJF described is him having friends, something Friedman has never had. Brody says MJF is right; he hasn’t beaten anyone credible to challenge for the title. King says he sat down with Tony Khan and determined the best person to face to earn himself a title shot, MJF. King says he has an Eliminator match with MJF next week, and if he wins, he gets a title shot at Grand Slam Australia.

It’s time for a Superkick Party!

We get a video package for the Young Bucks as they declare they will be climbing the ladder of the AEW Tag Team Division.

AEW Women’s World Championship: Kris Statlander (c) vs. Thekla (w/ the Sisters of Sin)

  • The finish of the match saw Kris Statlander hit Thekla with Staturday Night Fever to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still AEW Women’s World Champion, Kris Statlander

After the match, Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale come out to celebrate with Statlander. Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford stand on the stage, teasing that they are the next in line for title shots.

Grade: B+

A lot of good in-ring action tonight on Dynamite. Nothing particularly mindblowing, but just damn good wrestling. Statlander gets another big win, and it looks like Megan Bayne might be next in line to get a shot at Statlander. If that’s the case, I think it’s time to switch the title.

Peace in the Don Callis Family didn’t last long

Don Callis is backstage with Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. Callis rambles about his plans to capture all the titles in AEW and tells Takeshita he needs to accept Okada’s apology as Fletcher did. Takeshita is disappointed in Fletcher and walks away.

We get a video package hyping up the rivalry between Ricochet and Jungle Jack Perry. They go backstage with The Demand beating down Perry. Ricochet lets GOA do most of the work while he cuts a promo on his future title challenger.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) (w/ Big Stoke) vs. The Don Callis Family

  • The finish of the match saw the Death Riders get involved. Jon Moxley clocks Mark Davis with the Continental Championship, and FTR hits Davis with a Shatter Machine to score the pinfall victory.

Winners: And still AEW World Tag Team Champions, FTR

Grade: A-

Really great tag team match with a finish that further intensifies the rivalry between the Death Riders and the Don Callis Family. I gotta give AEW credit on this one, everyone was waiting on Moxley to get kicked out of the group, but instead they find themselves warring with the Don Callis Family instead. Great stuff.

Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy are still a thing

Orange Cassidy is backstage with Renee Paquette. Cassidy runs down Wheeler Yuta until he shows up, and the two exchange words. This brings in Marina Shafir, but before she can do anything, Toni Storm gets involved. It sounds like a mixed tag match will be happening soon.

Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) vs. Andrade El Idolo

  • The finish of the match saw Andrade El Idolo kick Swerve Strickland low before hitting him with the DM to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Andrade El Idolo

Grade: A

Andrade El Idolo and Don Callis celebrate their big win as the show cuts backstage to MJF and Renee Paquette. Friedman is confronted by Kenny Omega, Andrade, and Hangman Page before getting in a car and driving off as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.

AEW Dynamite Review:

I thought tonight’s episode of Dynamite had a perfect blend of in-ring action and storyline advancement. Almost everything that happened tonight mattered for something that will happen in the future, and that’s a great way to put a show together.

The surprise debut of Tommaso Ciampa was fantastic, and I can’t wait to see his match with Mark Briscoe this Saturday night on Collision. The main event of the show between Swerve Strickland and Andrade El Idolo delivered in a big way and capped off tonight’s episode of Dynamite in a very positive way.

Grade: A-
