Why wasn’t Bryan Danielson on commentary this week for AEW Dynamite?
Back in August, it was announced that Bryan Danielson was being added to the AEW Dynamite commentary team full-time. While he has missed an episode here and there, Danielson has been a mainstay on Wednesday nights for several months and has dramatically helped improve the soundtrack of Dynamite.
So when Danielson is not present, it’s noticeable. Even with the return of Taz this week, The American Dragon’s absence was felt. But there’s a good reason why he didn’t appear.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bryan Danielson wasn’t at AEW Dynamite this week because weekly traveling has caused him to have a lot of neck issues.
Back in December, Danielson told Chris Van Vliet that he’s on the cusp of needing neck surgery but has been trying to avoid it. It’s unknown if the recent weekly traveling has changed his thought process on the situation.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
