Next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite is going to be a big one and will feature a Lights Out match, a title eliminator, and a big return.
During Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, a New Year’s Smash, chaos erupted as MJF attempted to celebrate his AEW World Championship win. As many challengers presented themselves to him, another match formed. “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland will take on The Opps in a Lights Out Match. The match came together after Samoa Joe criticized Page and Strickland for thinking they deserved a match against MJF.
Elsewhere in the night, Jon Moxley and Shelton Benjamin will compete in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match. That came together after Benjamin and MVP appeared following Moxley’s title eliminator win over Josh Alexander.
In a big return, Jim Ross will also make his return to the world of commentary. Ross has been away from AEW since August and has been dealing with health issues. The legend will be back next week, though, where fans will certainly be excited to see him.
The fully announced card for the January 7 episode of AEW Dynamite is as follows:
- Lights Out Match: “Hangman” Adam Page & Swerve Strickland vs. The Opps
- AEW Continental Championship – Eliminator Match: Jon Moxley vs. Shelton Benjamin
- Jim Ross makes commentary return
