Sting has nothing but praise for his AEW run.
After entertaining fans for four decades, the real-life Steve Borden hung up his boots in 2024. His final wrestling match took place at Revolution and saw him and Darby Allin retain their tag team titles against The Young Bucks.
During a recent interview with Going Ringside, Sting was asked whether the three major promotions he worked for post-2000 (TNA, WWE, and AEW) were different or similar.
“They’re all different in some ways, but the thing I liked about AEW is that it always felt like my brand. It felt like home to me,” he said.
When asked about his experience working for Tony Khan, the Icon said:
“He was the best. He was phenomenal. Treated me like gold the whole way through. And yeah, if it wasn’t for Tony, I wouldn’t have had the run that I had. And Darby, my partner.”
Darby Allin out Of AEW Continental Classic
Darby Allin appeared in a pre-taped promo segment during last week’s episode of AEW Collision to announce his exit from the Continental Classic. He told fans that doctors had advised him against competing in the tournament following his recent hospitalization.
Allin also announced that Jack Perry would be taking his spot in the Continental Classic. The announcement came nearly two weeks after Darby suffered a head injury during a match against Kevin Knight on AEW Dynamite.
