WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is no longer advertised for the upcoming Japan tour.
Updated ticket details show that Seth Rollins has been removed from Japan tour. The shows were set to take place the Tokyo events on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18, at Ryogoku Sumo Hall.
He was first scheduled to face CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship on October 17. The next day, he was set to team with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed against Punk, Jey Uso and Shinsuke Nakamura. However, the lineup for Seth Rollins’ matches now has been changed. CM Punk will face Dominik Mysterio on October 17 and on October 18, Punk and Nakamura will team up against Breakker and Reed.
These changes follow Seth Rollins’ injury during his match with Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth. He landed awkwardly on his shoulder while performing a coast-to-coast headbutt and was later seen wearing a sling.
On WWE RAW, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turned on Rollins. Reports revealed he likely suffered a shoulder injury and will undergo tests soon. The attack also signaled a major change, as Breakker’s split from the Vision was moved up earlier than planned.
Original plans for Seth Rollins at WWE WrestleMania 42 — report
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio revealed that WWE was planning a match between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins for WrestleMania 42. He said, “Seth Rollins was tentatively scheduled to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. I don’t know this, but I have been told enough things to where I expected there to be a turn on Seth Rollins at some point.”
“The whole thing with this faction was not about Seth Rollins. It was about Bron Breakker and making Bron Breakker the next Roman Reigns,” Meltzer explained. “I doubt it was going to be this early.” He also suggested that Seth Rollins’ injury might impact WWE’s plans for Saturday Night’s Main Event and Survivor Series.
