One of the most popular stars in All Elite Wrestling is former AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. She has captured the title a total of three times in her career. Her third run as the AEW Women’s World Champion commenced back in November of 2023 and she held on to the title for most of 2024.
Toni Storm recently made her return to the Jacksonville-based promotion at the Winter is Coming special episode. She also returned as her original character, rather than returning to her “Timeless” persona. Recently, wrestling veteran and AEW commentator Tony Schiavone shared his thoughts on the Australian-born star.
While speaking on the What Happened When podcast, Tony Schiavone mentioned that he believes that Toni Storm is one of the top five female wrestlers in the world. He also shared that Storm has been ‘killing it’ since her return to AEW.
“Toni is probably top five of the best women wrestlers, one of the best women wrestlers I’ve ever seen as far as in-ring work too, and when she came out at the end of Dynamite at the end of that Mariah May match I’m thinking, oh wow are we going back to Toni Storm, the old Toni Storm but with a twist … She is absolutely killing it and again Toni Storm is a quality person that you want to see prosper, want to see get ahead.” Tony Schiavone said.
