Sami Zayn will defend the gold at WWE Money in the Bank.
Bron Breakker has set his sights on WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn in recent weeks, as has Sheamus. Sheamus faced Breakker on the June 17 episode of WWE RAW, but Ludwig Kaiser interfered and caused the match to end in a disqualification.
On the June 24 episode of WWE RAW, Breakker faced Kaiser, but Sheamus interfered, and the match ended in a disqualification. Breakker then dropped both men with an emphatic Spear. Backstage, Breakker angrily confronted RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. He made it clear that he would have a match with Zayn if not for Sheamus and Kaiser interfering.
Zayn interrupted and agreed to give Breakker a title shot. Breakker named WWE Money in the Bank as the place, and Zayn accepted. Pearce then confirmed that the match was official.
Breakker is a former NXT Tag Team Champion and NXT Tag Team Champion. Breakker signed with SmackDown and competed in several matches while he was still with NXT. He fully moved to the main roster after RAW selected him in the 2024 WWE Draft.
