MJF’s Shoulder Was ‘So Messed Up’ At AEW Worlds End, Says A Lot Of His Generation Are Pussies About Injuries

MJF was not in good shape before AEW World End last year.

The Salt of the Earth lost his AEW Championship to Samoa Joe at the end of the year, following an incredible year-long reign as world champion. This included title defences against the likes of Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega and Adam Cole, cementing him as one of AEW’s greatest ever champions.

However, after the match, he was attacked by Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom. This put MJF on the shelf for six months, not appearing until Double or Nothing last month. As it turns out, his shoulder was in bad health, and had some interesting things to say about his generation.

MJF spoke to Sports Illustrated after his return last week. He revealed his should was so “messed up” before the match with Samoa Joe, he couldn’t do any cardio.

He also ripped his “generation,” calling many of them “pussies” for being afraid to work injured.

“As far as that Samoa Joe match goes, full transparency, my shoulder was so messed up I couldn’t even do cardio,” said Friedman. “When I ran, my arms would swing slightly–and the pain that would cause was unbearable. But I got in the ring that night to do my job. Frankly, I find that interesting. A lot of people in my generation are p——. Please print that. They’re too afraid to get in there when they have a boo-boo. That’s not how I operate. I take my job very seriously. If you put MJF on the top of the billing, I’m showing up.”

MJF recently posted a comparison between himself after World’s End and last week’s Dynamite, showing how much his injury affected him. It is clear he is back in peak physical condition, and will be a force to be reckoned with.

It’s also funny that he called some of his generation pussies, considering Wardlow just used the same insult against him.
