Braun Strowman detailed exactly what happened between himself and Brock Lesnar at the 2018 Royal Rumble.
The pair clashed in a Triple Threat match at the event, which also included Kane. During the match, Strowman laid a stiff knee into Lesnar’s head. The former WWE Champion did not appreciate this move, and let Strowman know about it immediately.
The Beast quickly got to his feet, and hit a huge right hand right into the side of Strowman’s head. Strowman looked rocky at first, but continued with the rest of the match as normal.
Chris Van Vliet spoke to Braun Strowman about the Royal Rumble incident. Strowman revealed he got “overzealous” with Brock Lesnar and that Lesnar had to check him for the big knee.
He also said that it did “not feel good”, but that he’s one of the only people who could take the punch and not be knocked out.
“I got a little overzealous with him, and he had to check me.” Braun Strowman said. “At the end of the day, it’s two big dominant dudes out there going at it, and things happen. This ain’t ballet. Yeah, I… I stiffed him on accident with the knee, and, uh, he wasn’t happy with it. So he clobbered me in the side of the head. And I like to think I’m the only human on earth that’s ever taken a right hand from Brock and didn’t go night night. I went 20 more minutes in the match. It didn’t feel good. I mean, you see it in slow motion. My skull moves, and then the skin catches up.”
