A legend in the professional wrestling business is former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg. He has not competed inside a professional wrestling ring since the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event back in 2022. He challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the event. Unfortunately, he lost. Since then, his contract with the Stamford-based promotion has come to an end and as of this article is being written, the WWE Hall of Famer is a free agent.
There were rumors for a while that Goldberg would be making his debut in the Tony Khan-led promotion, AEW. But it has not come to fruition yet.
Recently, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion made an appearance on the Drinkin’ Bros podcast. During the interview, the WWE Hall of Famer opened up about whether he had truly hung up his wrestling boots.
“When you’re a professional wrestler by trade, you never retire until you’re dead. I’ve been asked a couple times, but it’s hard to break me away. I’ve been hanging on the sidelines for four years with my son. My wife and I moved here for the sole reason of watching our son grow up in an unbelievable surrounding and it’s been fabulous. Living out that script for the last four years, me not having to go back and forth to Hollywood and do anything and be able to set our time aside because he plays baseball, he plays football, so we’ve just been parents for four years and it’s just been the best part of my life. It’s awesome,” Goldberg said. [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
Recently, Goldberg had some hot takes on WWE. He claimed that his animosity with Triple H played a role in Asuka overtaking Goldberg’s undefeated streak record.
