Mojo Rawley spills the tea.
Former WWE star Mojo Rawley recently claimed in an interview that Mercedes Moné, then known as Sasha Banks, was slated to work with rapper Megan Thee Stallion at a SummerSlam in years past.
“Yeah, Megan Thee Stallion was there, she was sitting at the table next to us,” Rawley said. “I didn’t realize, but I guess she was going to do something with Mercedes at SummerSlam, at WWE in years previous, and it just never materialized. It fell through for one reason or another. Obviously, we all know how those situations can go. It’s crazy.”
While it was not made clear which SummerSlam event it would have been, it seems that it may have been planned for 2021. Banks was slated to challenge then-SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair that night, however she was ultimately not cleared for the event and was replaced by a returning Becky Lynch.
Additionally, Fightful reported back in August 2021 that WWE was hoping to land a Megan Thee Stallion appearance at the premium live event in Las Vegas, potentially for a spot involving Belair. But like Rawley said, for whatever reason it did not come to fruition.
