If you were waiting on more information on the Pat McAfee DLC pack in WWE 2K24, the RAW commentator spilled the beans today on his show.
This week on The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee confirmed that his friends and co-hosts, Boston Connor and Ty Schmit, will join him as playable characters via WWE 2K24 DLC.
Despite their inclusion, McAfee insists that neither took anyone else’s spot that was supposed to be in the game.
“I would like to make everybody well aware of the fact that we did not take anybody spots on that game,” Pat McAfee claimed. “I’m a wrestling fan. I’m a massive wrestling fan. Obviously, I follow along with the wrestling IWC, okay? I would too be pissed if somebody that I was a fan of was left out of the game for me or my friends.”
McAfee confirmed his friends were scanned when WWE RAW was in Houston earlier this week.
Pat McAfee wouldn’t be in WWE 2K24 without his co-hosts
McAfee would admit he wouldn’t allow 2K to put him in the game without his friends being in as well.
“I can’t wait to see your characters that once again are taking nobody’s spot,” Pat McAfee continued. “Now was that a full give-and-take with the people that make the video game whenever it was initially pitched? And I said, ‘If I go in there, I feel like some of the boys should go in there. It’s kind of our thing. If not, I’m okay not to be in the game until maybe I get back into wrestling [or] if I ever get back into wrestling.’
“And they’re like, ‘Oh, let’s see what happens.’ And then there’s a little give and take, and then obviously the message is sent back like, ‘Hey, all good. Nobody’s getting a spot taken. Anybody that was gonna be in the game is gonna be in the game. Would you like to add some of your guys?’ And I’m like, ‘Absolutely!'”
You might recall that McAfee was initially scheduled to be included in 2K23. However, the former NFL star was pulled before his inclusion could be announced. Despite this, McAfee’s data was found in the game files following its release.
The first DLC pack for WWE 2K24 is scheduled to release in May. McAfee’s pack is scheduled to be released in July.
