WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long is one of the most popular General Managers in the Stamford-based promotion. Recently, the wrestling veteran shared an unfortunate incident involving AEW.
During the most recent episode of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge’s Wrestling Time Machine show, the WWE Hall of Famer shared that one of AEW’s workers told him that the Jacksonville-based promotion was not hiring any old people.
“Do you… And I’ll say this, and I won’t say who told me. But, do you know, one of the guys that worked there had the nerve to walk up to me, now I didn’t ask for this and told me, ‘Oh by the way, AEW told me to let you know that we’re not hiring any old people.’ I swear. They walked up to me out of the blue. I didn’t ask for that. Who cares about…? I’m not asking nobody for a job there. But this is what this guy walked up and told me,” Teddy Long said.

Teddy Long on MJF potentially signing with WWE
During the same episode, Long shared his thoughts on the current AEW World Champion MJF jumping ship and signing with WWE in 2024.
“Well, my thing is this. I love MJF. He’s that… The guy is great on the mic. And his wrestling skills are even better. So I think he deserves that. If he gets a break in WWE, congratulations to him because he can perform, he can do it all. He’s got the thing that every wrestler needs. Some wrestlers just get in the ring and can wrestle. Some wrestlersi can wrestle and entertain. That’s what Hulk Hogan was. He was a wrestler plus entertainer. So, MJF is a wrestler plus entertainer, so he’s got two things going for him. And I love him to death. So if he gets in WWE congratulations to him and they will use him right. And then like you say Mac, AEW will see where they missed the vote again. But it’s the favoritism. They keep playing that favoritism.”
