Rob Van Dam has made his first AEW appearance, and his in-ring debut has been announced.
During the August 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, FTW Champion Jack Perry called out Jerry Lynn following their confrontation last week. Lynn wasted little time in welcoming out a fellow ECW legend in Rob Van Dam.
RVD came down to the ring, but Perry initially left. Perry then tried to attack from behind with a chair in hand, but Van Dam outsmarted him and stood tall as Perry retreated through the crowd.
Fightful Select reported earlier on Wednesday that Rob Van Dam was being discussed as an opponent for Perry at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium on August 27, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Update: AEW later confirmed that RVD will challenge Perry for the FTW Championship on the August 9 episode of AEW Dynamite. The legend issued the challenge during an interview on Wednesday night.
