AEW presented a star-studded show with the August 2 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The 200th episode featured an AEW Women’s World Championship match, as Toni Storm defended the title against Hikaru Shida. Plus, Jon Moxley faced Penta El Zero Miedo and Trent Beretta in an anything goes match, AEW World Champion MJF spoke, and more.
The results are as follows:
Chris Jericho & Konosuke Takeshita (with Don Callis) vs. Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garca
Jericho and Guevara start the bout and feel each other out. Guevara leaps over Jericho and takes him down with a dropkick. Jericho chops Guevara. Garcia and Guevara double-team Jericho. Garcia maintains the advantage and dances. Takeshita tags in and drops Garcia with a clothesline and a stiff shot to the face. Jericho tags back in and grounds Garcia. Callis trips up Garcia, and Jericho rocks him with a boot to the face. Jericho and Takeshita continue to control the action. Garcia blocks a Lionsault and gains some breathing room.
Garcia tags in and takes Takeshita down with a crossbody. He dives onto Jericho at ringside and follows it up with a dive onto Takeshita. Guevara hits a frog splash, but Jericho breaks up the pin. Garcia takes the fight to Jericho. Takeshita floors Guevara with a Blue Thunder Bomb and locks him in the Walls of Jericho. He escapes and hits Jericho with a Spanish fly. Jericho drops Garcia with a Codebreaker. Garcia rocks Jericho with a kick. Garcia superkicks Takeshita and hits a Shooting Star Press to the outside. Garcia dodges the Judas Effect and locks Jericho in the Dragon-Slayer. Callis hits Garcia with a bat, and Jericho saw him do it. Jericho looks upset, but he pins Garcia.

Backstage, Tony Khan thanks the fans for watching. He says AEW is celebrating an important milestone on the road to AEW All In. Khan thanks the fans, AEW’s roster and its staff. A video package highlights the history of AEW.
Matt Menard confronts Jericho backstage and tells him there’s a mandatory Jericho Appreciation Society meeting next week.
In-Ring Segment: Jack Perry and Jerry Lynn
FTW Champion Jack Perry calls out Jerry Lynn. Lynn comes to the stage and says he’d love to make an example out of Perry, but that would be child abuse. Lynn says he would never get cleared to compete, but he called a good friend of his who used to wrestle in ECW. Lynn reveals that his friend still wrestles today. Rob Van Dam comes out and confronts Perry, who rolls out of the ring and walks away. RVD does his “Rob Van Dam” taunt. Perry tries to attack RVD, but he has it scouted. Van Dam sends Perry running, and the FTW Champion leaves through the crowd.
A video package highlights tonight’s title match between Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida.
Anything Goes: Trent Beretta vs. Jon Moxley vs. Penta El Zero Miedo (with Alex Abrahantes)
Beretta dives onto Moxley during his entrance. Penta also dives to the outside. Moxley gets Beretta back on the ring and takes the fight to him. Penta hits Moxley and Beretta with a trash can. Moxley drops Penta with a cutter. Penta hits Moxley with a backstabber. Trent hits Penta with a trash can. Moxley hits Beretta with a barbed wire 2×4. He grinds the barbed wire on Beretta and drops him with a piledriver. Beretta suplexes Moxley onto the barbed wire 2×4. Trent is bleeding, and Penta lays him out on a table. Moxley grinds the barbed wire onto Penta’s face. Beretta superplexes Moxley through a table at ringside.
During a commercial, Moxley briefly takes control. The three competitors continue to wage war. Trent and Penta kick Moxley. Penta and Trent battle on the top rope. Penta sends Trent through a table with an avalanche destroyer. Moxley sends Penta through a table with a shoulder tackle. Moxley dumps out some thumbtacks. Moxley hits Penta with a piledriver onto the tacks. He slams Penta onto the tacks. Trent hits the Strong Zero on Moxley onto the tacks. The three competitors trade blows. Moxley drops Trent with a lariat. Moxley hits Penta with the Paradigm Shift, but Trent gets the pin.
Winner: Trent Beretta
Moxley attacks Trent and chokes him out after the bell. Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta head out, and they’re intercepted by Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy. Moxley joins the fight. Trent dives onto the Blackpool Combat Club. Taylor throws a chair at Claudio. Cassidy drills Moxley with the Orange Punch. Taylor challenges the Blackpool Combat Club to a fight in the parking lot at Daily’s Place.
Backstage, Rob Van Dam comments on his AEW debut and says he heard Jack Perry running his mouth. He challenges Perry to a match for the FTW Championship.
In-Ring Segment: MJF
AEW World Champion MJF comes to the ring. The crowd chants his name. He says he’s a little emotional, and he wants to have a heart-to-heart conversation. MJF notes that he has ADD and other disorders, including rejection sensitive disorder. He says he can’t regulate rejection-based emotions. MJF admits that there’s a lot of stuff about him that people don’t know, as he has been through a lot. MJF recalls how bullies threw quarters at him and called him a “Jew boy”. He says he can still feel the quarters hitting him, and he can hear the laughter. MJF says that day showed him that everyone was a “scumbag”, and he’d have to stab people in the back to get ahead. MJF says he has started to realize that’s no way to live, as he has become a scumbag himself.
He says being a scumbag is easy, but being vulnerable is hard. MJF says he knows it would “kill him” if he opened himself up to people and got rejected, as it would make him feel the way he did when he was bullied. MJF says he’s not scared anymore, and that’s because of the fans. He the fans that they taught him that they care about him. MJF says he won’t change overnight, but and he’s still a scumbag, but he’s ready to be “your scumbag.” He gets a “he’s our scumbag” chant from the fans. MJF says Adam Cole helped him see that he deserved a friend. MJF asks Adam Cole to come to the ring and calls him his best friend.
Cole comes out and says MJF continues to impress him. He says MJF is one of the best wrestlers in the world. Cole emphasizes that he is impressed by the man MJF is becoming. He tells MJF that he is not alone. Cole says he used to be a jerk because he was scared, and he didn’t understand what being a man was. He says MJF is becoming the man he is meant to be. Cole tells MJF he, and the fans, are proud of him. MJF points out that Cole is wearing their new shirt but says he called him out for another reason. He says he promised Cole he’d give him a shot at the world title. MJF says Cole doesn’t deserve a match. He clarifies that he doesn’t deserve just any match; he deserves “the match.” MJF says Cole deserves to face him in the main event of at AEW All In. Cole tells MJF he loves him, and they hug. The match graphic is shown on the screen.
Backstage, Matt Taven throws a temper tantrum. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett show up and say Cole always forgets about his real friends.
The Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks) vs. Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal & Satnam Singh
Omega and Jarrett start the bout. Jarrett does the strut and taunts the crowd. Matt Jackson and Omega double-team Lethal. The Young Bucks showcase their chemistry with some tag-team offense. Singh tags in and overpowers The Young Bucks. Singh, Jarrett, and Lethal mock The Elite’s pose. Jarrett and Lethal continue to control the action. Omega makes the hot tag and fires up with a flurry of offense. Lethal blocks a moonsault. Omega goes for the One-Winged Angel, but Sonjay Dutt interferes. Brandon Cutler gets involved. The Hardys come down and attack Dutt. Jarrett gets a guitar, but Hangman Page shows up and hits him with a Buckshot Lariat. Omega hits Lethal with a V-trigger. He strums Jarrett’s guitar and pins Lethal with the One-Winged Angel.
Winners: The Elite (Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks)
Hangman Page gets a microphone and comments on the group re-signing with AEW. Omega says whether it’s Dynamite, Rampage, ROH, or even Collision, fans will see much more of them.
In a video promo, AR Fox explains that he turned on Darby Allin because Darby never thanked him for helping him land in AEW. Strickland says the Mogul Embassy takes care of their own. He plays a video of himself and AR Fox going to Nick Wayne’s gym and attacking him. They beat Wayne up to the point that he’s bleeding. They use Allin’s phone to call Allin. Strickland asks him why he couldn’t call Fox years ago. Strickland tells Allin they’re the ghosts of his past, and they’re going to haunt him.
ROH World Tag Team Championship: Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo & Komander (with Alex Abrahantes)
Vikingo gains the upper hand early on. Aussie Open takes control. Komander and Vikingo rally. Vikingo sends Davis to the outside with a dropkick. Komander and Vikingo double-team Fletcher. Vikingo and Komander dive onto Aussie Open, but they get caught and slammed into each other. Aussie Open grounds Komander. They continue to control the action. They rally, but the champions kick Vikingo in mid-air. Vikingo keeps fighting, and he hits a crucifix bomb. Komander and Vikingo dive onto Aussie Open. Fletcher breaks up the pin after a 450 splash.
Aussie Open drills Komander with double clotheslines and hit the Borealis for the win.

AEW Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm (c) (with Saraya & Ruby Soho) vs. Hikaru Shida
Shida sends Storm to the outside with a series of strikes. The challenger continues to control the action. Storm sends Shida to the outside with a hip attack. The champion gains the upper hand and grounds Shida. Storm tosses Shida across the ring. Shida fires up with a German suplex and a kick. The challenger hits Storm with a knee strike. A missile dropkick earns Shida a two-count. Shida gets a two-count with a Meteora. Soho interferes, and Storm hits a tornado DDT. Storm hits a hip attack and drops Shida with a DDT for a two-count.
Storm and Shida trade blows. Shida hits a knee stike and a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Saraya slides a kendo stick into the ring. Storm and Shida battle over it. Shida gets it and hits Soho. Storm spray-paints Shida while the referee is distracted, and she gets a near fall with the Storm Zero. Shida reverses a pin attempt and pins Storm to win the match and the title.
