As more and more NXT UK talent make their way over to the States, many have been wondering when to expect the launch of WWE’s newest brand, NXT Europe.
Upon the disbanding of NXT UK last summer, WWE announced they’d be instilling a new, and expanded, brand in its place. Entitled “NXT Europe,” the brand will filter its talent pipeline throughout the entire continent of Europe, rather than keeping it centralized in the United Kingdom.
With the announcement, WWE also made the decision to release several of their NXT UK superstars, as they slowly integrated the remaining stars into the NXT territory based in the United States. Initially, NXT Europe was set to launch this year, but as of March, there have been no further details on when fans can exactly expect it to start.
In a recent interview with Dailymail’s Alex McCarthy, WWE Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels finally provided an update. “Things are still in the organizational stage and we are hoping we will have that up and running by the end of 2023,” Michaels said.
“I’m really learning. It isn’t something you just throw together, especially if you want to set it up for success. I think everyone would feel a bit more comfortable if it takes a little bit longer to make sure we cross every t and dot every i, but still looking forward to trying to make that a reality by the end of 2023.”
While WWE continues building towards its NXT Europe launch, several former NXT UK stars have begun to make their mark in the United States version of NXT. Most recently, Stevie Turner made her NXT debut in late January.
