Charlotte Flair Serving As Honorary Race Official At The Daytona 500

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will serve as an honorary race official for the 65th running of the DAYTONA 500 scheduled for today.

Flair will serve as an honorary race official for the pre-race ceremonies ahead of The Great American Race. Daytona President Frank Kelleher said “We’re thrilled to have Charlotte Flair as our honorary race official, adding her signature SmackDown style to the excitement of the DAYTONA 500 pre-race ceremonies.”

Flair recently sat down with The Daytona Beach News-Journal and was asked about her NASCAR experiences. She said, “Since middle school, when I was old enough to go races in the summer, we’d go just to tailgate. I was the passenger for the pace car at the Coca-Cola 600 in 2019. And I’ve tailgated for the (Daytona 500).”

When asked about her favorite NASCAR memory, Flair said it was with her brother. She said “It was with my little brother, right before I started wrestling in 2012. Yeah, we just tailgated all day and it was one of my last pictures I took with my brother right before I signed with WWE.”

Flair is already at the track and ready for today’s festivities, posting the following on Twitter. She is scheduled to come face-to-face with her WrestleMania opponent Rhea Ripley this week on SmackDown.
