Zack Sabre Jr. wants to face Bryan Danielson at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
In a post-match promo after NJPW Dominion, Sabre Jr. made it clear that he has been sending subtle messages to Danielson, but he upped the ante by bluntly calling “The American Dragon” out.
“Oh, I’m talking about useless pricks, I’ve got a bone to pick with you guys,” said Sabre Jr. “Last week, after Budokan, I was trying to be nice and subtle. I hummed the theme to ‘Final Countdown’ very beautifully. But I changed the lyrics. ‘Are we heading to Venus’, but I changed it to, ‘Are we heading to Chicago?’ You bastards edited it out, didn’t you? So no more time more for subtlety. American Dragon, can you take some time out of your busy golfing schedule, the Blackpool Country Club, to find out who the best technical wrestler in the world is. I’ll tell you now, darling. It’s f—— me.”
'Have you got time to take out of your busy schedule golfing with the Blackpool Country Club to find out who the best wrestler in the world is?'

Sabre Jr. is a three-time IWGP Tag Team Champion and a two-time New Japan Cup winner. He is also a former PWG World Champion. He won the Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Danielson Award for the Best Technical Wrestler every year from 2014-2020. Danielson himself won the award in 2021; he previously won it every year from 2005-2013.
Danielson has expressed his interest in facing Sabre Jr. before. He hasn’t appeared on AEW programming since the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing. He reportedly suffered an injury, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.
