Ric Flair doesn’t have a clue why some wrestling talents don’t get the main even opportunity they deserve and such a question was brought up about William Regal. On the latest episode of Wooooo Nation Uncensored, Flair was asked by co-host Mark Madden as to why Regal never became a bigger star. Flair didn’t have a clue as to the answer.
“I don’t know. It’s hard to explain. Why wasn’t Fit [Finlay] a bigger star? It certainly wasn’t cause he couldn’t work, you know what I mean?” Flair stated. “You could say that about a number of people that are really good and they don’t get the opportunity and then you’ll see somebody that you can’t even believe is getting a world title shot, how does it happen?”
Madden brought up the alliance Regal and Eaton had in the early 90s WCW in which the Alabama-slammin’ Eaton was put in a My Fair Lady role with the ritzy blueblooded Regal. That prompted Flair to praise the late Eaton all the way to the moon and back.
“Bobby Eaton: G-R-E-A-T (whistle), undeline, three exclamation points, but nobody is ever gonna say that cause they don’t realize what they’re talking about. When you talk about the top twenty workers in the business, Bobby Eaton is in it, but his talent was hidden because he was in a tag team situation and because he didn’t have great mic skills, but in-ring work? C’mon.”
