WWE is reportedly planning on a massive main event for SummerSlam this year.
In a tweet, Jon Alba of Spectrum Sports 360 reported that Roman Reigns vs. John Cena is the “targeted” marquee match for “The Biggest Party of the Summer.”
Was going to report this today even though I don't typically dabble into creative stuff, but @WrestleVotes beat me to the punch.
I can confirm, after speaking with multiple sources, Roman Reigns vs. John Cena is the targeted main event at this moment. #WWE #SummerSlam https://t.co/b13dh9MaEp

Alba also noted that though Cena has been busy with his filming obligations, his schedule will open up in July, just in time for the return of live fans to WWE shows.
Cena's schedule clears up in the beginning of July, which would allow him to return to #WWE in time for the return of fans. I believe it was @AndrewZarian who first mentioned this possibility a few weeks ago. #WWE

This report came in response to a tweet from WrestleVotes, which stated that WWE intends to make SummerSlam as big as WrestleMania by leaning on “all resources.” WrestleVotes’ tweet also reported the Cena vs. Reigns match.
