WWE SummerSlam could be heading to a different city in 2023.
In 2022, the event was held in Nashville, Tennessee, while Paradise, Nevada, hosted the show the year before that. Previously, SummerSlam had been based in Brooklyn, New York, and Los Angles, California, for a few multi-year stretches.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Detroit, Michigan, has emerged as a frontrunner for 2023. Per the report, nothing is finalized, but WWE sources noted that “The Motor City” was being considered. SummerSlam was last held in Detroit in 1993. Given the company’s recent pattern of holding big shows at stadiums, Ford Field, Little Caesers Arena, and Comerica Park could be some potential options.
WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
