September 3, 2005 Show:
The show may have been late this week, but it certainly was not one to miss. With guests, an interview, reviews, rants, mailrooms, cheap plugs, and more, this episode of The Wrestling Crossfire had everything for every type of fan out there to enjoy!
The show started off with Doug running down the mailroom which lead to an interesting discussion on gimmicks, tag teams, TLC, the IWC, columns, Dusty Rhodes, and music. Even more, the mailroom sparked an interesting rant from Doug on columnist Josh Tariff which Doug truly held nothing back on. Following the intense discussion and rant spurned by the trip to the mailroom, Doug took time to review the latest WWE autobiography Walking A Golden Mile which chronicles the life of William Regal. After the book review, Doug passed the reigns over to last week’s contest winner Matt Green who hosted his own version of the TWC Mailroom. In it, he answered five questions that sparked a huge spiel on spot monkeys, sports entertainment, Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, flips, athletics, and the overall meaning of pro wrestling. Matt’s segment was true to his character: knowledgable and controversial, and he backs up every claim with more detail than anyone before. Following Matt’s segment, Doug came back with the Columnist Of The Show and a special Shoot Stop on backyard wrestling, which Doug really doesn’t paint in a pretty picture.
Doug then got a chance to intervie Chris Holley, the make of the new Submission wrestling board game. Chris answered all kinds of questions about his games from costs to problems to brainstorming and then stayed on for a bit longer to give his opinions on the state of wrestling today, the ECW PPV he saw live, TNA, and more. After Chris left, Doug gave his candid review of the Submission wrestling board game talking about everything from it’s amazing customizing features to it’s blatant lack of a board.
