2023 saw some of the top stars make their return to WWE. Some of the top names are Randy Orton, CM Punk, The Rock, Kairi Sane, Lita, and more. One of the top female stars who popped up to have a full-fledged wrestling program was Trish Stratus. She ended her run in 2023 with a feud against The Man Becky Lynch.
When Stratus first made an appearance in early last year, she was a babyface who wanted to help her friend Lita and her tag team partner Becky Lynch. Shortly after, Trish Stratus turned on The Man. For the next few months, she and Becky Lynch had been feuding.
The WWE Hall of Famer also mentored former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Zoey Stark. Finally, both Lynch and Stratus put an end to their feud by competing against each other inside a Steel Cage. Both stars put on a tough fight and in the end, Lynch managed to clinch the victory.
During a recent episode of the Casual Podcast with Brad Tate, The Man opened up about her rivalry against Trish Stratus.
“I think it’s always going to be a little bit mind-blowing, growing up as a fan of somebody, that you get to work alongside them. It was incredible. We’ve said for many years that she’s one of the greatest of all time and she proved it through sheer work ethic and fearlessness. I am so proud of that cage match we had at Payback. I think it’s one of my favorite matches that I’ve ever had, and what an honor to be able to do that with Trish Stratus,” Becky Lynch said. [H/T Fightful.com]
