Kenny Omega Defeats Moose With Help From Young Bucks To Retain IMPACT Title; Sami Callihan Appears & Gets Fired

IMPACT Against All Odds sure had a “big fight feel” as Moose challenged Kenny Omega in front of an actual audience at Daily’s Place for the IMPACT World Championship. Don Callis joined Tony Schiavone and Scott D’Amore on commentary to call the match. Official introductions were made by Justin Roberts. IMPACT senior official Brian Hebner refereed the bout as he held up the belt and the bell rang.

Kenny is a bit tentative to start the match as he went for a bit of a powder to have Moose called off him. Power is a presence as Moose displays it, but it’s Kenny who shows that championship caginess by turning a powerbomb attempt into a hurricanrana. Not long after, he Terminator dives on top of Moose to the outside. Moose does show his power during the match as Kenny shows his ruthlessness by pulling Moose into the ring post as the big man’s shoulders are taped. That is a major focus of Kenny’s as he stomps and elbows at the target. Kenny goes for a triangle hold but Moose powers it into a bomb. THis begins a flurry of offense for the big man.

Moose hits a series of athletic corner attacks before nailing Kenny with a sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. Kenny soon smacks Moose with a snap dragon suplex and two V-Triggers for near falls.

Those V-Triggers continue as Kenny hits several on Moose’s shoulder. He does lift Moose up for a One-Winged Angel, but Moose frees himself to hit a rip chord lariat. Moose is down and his shoulder is hurt as Doc Sampson checks in on Moose. Just as Sampson leaves, Kenny hits another V-Trigger. Moose somehow smacks a top rope Spanish fly for a near fall.

Some tom foolery goes down when Brian Hebner gets caught in a collision between Moose and Kenny. This allows The Young Bucks to interfere with a Superkick Party and a BTE Trigger. The trio hoist him up for an assisted V-Trigger and the pinfall victory.

Post-match, the lights go out and Sami Callihan attacks The Elite. Callis tries to talk Sami down from attacking Kenny Omega with a chair, but it doesn’t look like he was going to so Don Callis fires him to end the show.
