AAA’s Owner Is Seeking To Buy IMPACT Wrestling

The Wrestling Observer has broken a potentially big story today with news that AAA owner Dorian Roldan is attempting to purchase IMPACT Wrestling. The Observer’s Dave Meltzer said the following on the topic.

“Dorian Roldan, who runs AAA, has told several people that he’s looking at buying Impact. We don’t know if that’s just talk or something serious.”

IMPACT and AAA do have a working relationship and have shared talent on various events in the past.  Anthem, Impact’s parent company has not said anything publicly about this news.

Recently IMPACT has upped it’s game with some great in-ring action on Pop TV, gaining traction with a Twitch streaming channel and their Global Wrestling Network streaming service but the brand is viewed by as tainted after so much upheaval in recent years. AAA has some real presence in Mexico with strong media partners and well-promoted live events in arenas. It would be intriguing how any potential deal could affect the current story lines in IMPACT.
