WWE Live Event Results Fresno, California:
The house tonight was maybe 2/3 full. Our announcers were Lillian Garcia and Byron Saxton.
1. AJ Styles defeated The Miz – Hot opener, AJ was way over with constant lets go AJ chants from the crowd. Miz submitted to the Calf Crusher.
2. The Dudleys defeated Social Outcast members Adam Rose and Heath Slater. All the classic Dudley spots were on display. Slater took the 3D. Great moment for anyone listening during the opening minutes when Devon was working Rose and Bubba shouted from the apron ” that’s some real Johnny Rodz sh** right there!”
3. Baron Corbin defeated Viktor from the Ascension and Fandango in a 3-way match. You read that correctly, Fandango. He looked great and carried the match. Corbin spent a lot of the match selling outside of the ring. He looks great on NXT TV but not ready for prime time in person. Sporadic NXT chants during the match. Someone from NXT was ringside taking pictures of Corbin.
4. Neville and Kane d. Harper and Rowan. Kane got a tremendous pop. Rowan taunted the crowd by eating some fur from his sheep mask. Neville took all the heat. That guy can sell. Lots of hope spots until the hot tag to Kane. Choke slam on Harper then Neville asked for the tag. He got it and hit the Red Arrow for the pin. After the match Kane extended his hand to Neville who responded by jumping up and hugging Kane.
5. Becky Lynch, Natalya, and Sasha Banks defeated Team Bad (Naomi and Tamina) and Cameron. Becky took one from The Hitman and gave her goggles to a kid ringside. Nice touch. Really strong match with Becky taking most of the heat. Sasha pinned Naomi with the Bank Statement. Same NXT official was ringside watching and taking pictures of Cameron.
6. Lucha Dragons defeated Los Matadors. Again not a typo, Los Matadors. Lucha Dragons got the biggest pop of the night as should be expected in the Central Valley of CA. Really fun match with the Matadors working as full on heels. Kalisto is something to behold in person. Simply amazing. Salina del Sol followed by the Swanton from Sin Carra.
7. Main Event – Chris Jericho defeated Bray Wyatt w/Braun Stroman at ringside. Great match with two awesome professionals. Jericho may have lost a step but he is still a fantastic wrestler and consummate show man. Some interference here and there from Strowman but Jericho overcomes and submits Bray with the Walls of Jericho.
All the superstars were so gracious and took lots of time at ringside before and after matches with Kalisto, Natalya, The Dudleys, and Jericho giving the crowd the most. Really fun show
