Backstage, Bully Ray walks down the hall with the World title. He says that Sting didn’t think about the stipulation before opening his mouth. Bully talks about how Sting wants him to poke out his eye, and break his arms and his legs, but none of that is going to happen. The champion gives us a history lesson, and says the No Holds Barred match used to come about because there were certain moves that wrestlers wouldn’t do to each other, because they knew the consequences of using them. But there’s still one move that guys refuse to do in modern pro wrestling, because it’s that dangerous. And that move…is the piledriver. Bully says he’s not going to break Sting’s arms or legs, he’s going to hit him with the piledriver and break his neck.
No Holds Barred for the TNA World Championship
Sting vs. Bully Ray (c)
If Sting loses this match, he will never wrestle for the World Championship again.
As soon as the official introductions are done, and the bell rings, Sting attacks Bully in the corner with a clothesline and fires away with right hands. Irish whip into the corner sends the champ to the mat as the crowd chants “you still got it”. Sting asks Christy for the title belt and brings it into the ring, but misses a shot and they brawl to the outside. Stinger sets up for the Splash off the guardrail, but Bully moves out of the way and the Icon crashes hard into the metal.
Bully continues the beatdown, ripping Sting’s shirt and bouncing him off the announce table and steel ring steps. He sprints to the back randomly, and comes back to the ring with a steel chair. Bully swings and misses, smacking the chair off the ring post. Sting takes the chair and smashes it against the champion’s back over and over again. The Icon begins to stalk his opponent, assaulting him with the chair. Brooke Hogan comes down to the ramp and looks on, but Sting grabs her and forces her backstage.
