Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles

AJ Styles has new “outlaw-themed” entrance music, and makes his way to the ring wearing a leather jacket and a new shirt.

They brawl to the outside to start this match, and AJ nails Kurt with a baseball slide into the barricade. Styles with a flying forearm, but Kurt catches him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker off the ropes. AJ springboards over the top rope with a dropkick to the knee of Angle, which is heavily bandaged. He locks in the Calf Killer, but Kurt crawls to the ropes. AJ remains in control with a standing dropkick, and continues to work over the knee with a single-leg Boston crab.

The two trade right hands, and Angle lands a belly-to-belly suplex for a two-count. He follows that up with a waist-lock T-Bone suplex for another two-count, but is obviously favoring his knee. Kurt walks into a spinebuster from Styles, followed by a springboard moonsault for a close pin attempt. He heads to the outside and drops Angle’s neck across the top rope, followed up with a springboard leg drop. Angle tries for a German suplex off the top rope, but Styles lands on his feet, only to run into another suplex sending him head-first into the bottom turnbuckle! Crazy combination.

Kurt lands the Angle Slam and tries for the Ankle Lock, but Styles rolls through and sends him into the turnbuckle. They exchange right hands, and AJ rolls into a Calf Killer. Angle is in a lot of pain, but somehow transitions into the Ankle Lock! AJ tries to escape the hold, but Kurt grapevines it. Styles kicks away at the gold medalist’s injured knee and forces him to break the lock. AJ hands him in the tree of woe, and follows up with a missile dropkick to the gut.

Kurt with a roll-up out of nowhere but only gets a two-count. He tries for the Angle Slam, but AJ counters it and tries for the Styles Clash. Kurt rolls through and stacks up AJ with a double-leg pin and gets the 1-2-3!

Winner: Kurt Angle
