I love the fact that Brock, and the Rock, and Jericho are here because they’re guaranteed. They’ve proven that they can go in the ring. For Wrestlemania this year, I think it’s wonderful. I think there wasn’t any room for that celebrity involvement. Who’s a bigger celebrity than the Rock? I think it’s wonderful that he’s returning to his roots, because he loves wrestling. He loves wrestling. He loves sports entertainment too, but he loves wrestling. I dig that about the Rock.
But next year, at WrestleMania 30, it’s a personal goal – and I know Dolph (Ziggler) is the same way, Wade (Barrett) is probably the same way – that it’s not about bringing anyone back. On the Paul Bearer Angle:
I mean leave it to a Jew to portray a resurrection the day after Easter Sunday.
That was part of how offensive it was supposed to be! Of course, it was designed to offend! It was designed to be controversial! It was designed to piss people off and I wish it went even further than it did.
On the possibility of a Punk-Lesnar Match:
Listen if they happen to come to blows, I have both sides of a main event, that’s not bad. Isn’t that conventional thinking, I’d have to choose one side? Listen, tell ya my theory of life. I have a hot girlfriend. I have another hot girlfriend, on the side. Now, I can sit there and lie to them both and say, “Honey, you’re the one,” and then go to the other one, “Baby, you’re the one.” Or I can get them together and have the best of all worlds. Now you tell me, do you wanna live the double life, or do you sit there and say, can’t we all get along? So, why can’t I have both sides of the main event?
On MMA & Wrestling worlds colliding:
The moment you incorporate the concept of sports entertainment, once the bell rings into MMA, the desire from the MMA fan to look at everything involved and say it’s 100% legitimate is then compromised. Which would kill MMA here in this country, immediately. Plus, while there’s a desire from WWE Fans to see something 100% legitimate in terms of competition once the bell rings, there is no desire for the opposite, for the UFC, for the Bellator, or for the Invicta fan.
From what I understand the buyrate for Nick Diaz versus Georges St.-Pierre was through the roof and it doesn’t surprise me. Because it hada very sports entertainment style build, whether Diaz wanted it to be that way or not is a whole ‘nother story. That’s just him, he’s just being himself. But I think the lessons of pro wrestling certainly apply to MMA up until the time they say, “Let’s fight.”
On a Austin-Punk Match:
I'm very intrigued by what could possibly happen if those two could step into the ring with each other. The chemistry with each other, and around each other, there’s a real combustible element there. You just know it. They have so much respect and admiration for each other, but man you look into each others eyes going, “man I’d really like to tangle with this dude.”
Let’s say Austin comes back for WrestleMania XXX, let’s say he comes back against CM Punk. Is that a $200 million dollar weekend in revenue? Is that a $200 million dollar gross revenue weekend and is the catalyst for that figure going from 150 to 200, Stone Cold Steve Austin? Now if that intrigues Steve, it intrigues me but I’m not Steve, I think Steve would be back.

On the Antonio Cesaro Shirt:
It was a clean shirt that grabbed and I wore that day. It’s not some sort of silent protest because he’s not on Mania, although I will go on record right now that it’s absolutely ridiculous that he doesn’t have a match at Wrestlemania. I will pimp that guy until the cows come home. He’s awesome. He’s everything that the WWE should want in their superstars. He’s tremendous. He can wrestle, he’s a brick house, he’s looks the part, he acts the part, he walks and talks that part. He can speak seven different languages! You’re missing the boat on this guy.
On the company:
This is not my company; if it was it would be run very differently and I’m not saying that the way Vince does things is 100% right or 100% wrong all the time and I’m not saying that I know the answer to everything. Vince does what he thinks is best for business and he’s right a lot of the time and there’s just sometimes I think he’s missing the boat on stuff, Cesaro being one of them. Barrett’s another good one. I think we start and stop guys too much. They did it with me forever; they did it with Sheamus forever. You’re the flavor of the month. You’re doing this, you’re doing that, and then you just kind of get shuffled to the back. I don’t think anybody can truly organically grow and become these superstars that they say they’re looking for when you start and stop guys all the time. But it’s just a difference of opinion on how the business is.
On MMA:
I don’t think Vince would let me do that.
Am I interested? I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t. Doing what I do now, I would not be able to train how I would need to, but we’ll see what happens.
On the New WWE Title:
That was actually one of the goals. I never would have spoken about it on TV if there wasn’t a new title belt ready to go. So, I did that and I just got the run-around forever about it. It was talked about, it just never happened.
On The Streak:
No, because I’ve got the Undertaker and I think the streak, ultimately, is bigger than the title. Twenty years undefeated at Wrestlemania and the way this thing’s been built up, no I’m not salty about not even having the title anymore. I think I built that thing (the WWE title) up and I worked very hard to do that, to get it ready for the next guy. So no, not salty at all.
On Austin:
It’s never been really acknowledged within the WWE. This isn’t me trying to promote something that isn’t there, but there was just this hilarious tension in the room when me and Steve were in there. It’s funny to actually be in a room live, everybody else is uncomfortable except me and Steve. There’s this weird magnetism. It’s this unspoken thing. The only way I can describe it, and Paul Heyman completely 100% agrees, it’s the Old West and there’s the two gunfighters – and they’re buddies – but everybody always goes “I wonder what would happen…what if?” And that’s all it is. It’s fun.

He had some interesting things to say about Shell Shocking Mark Henry, Nexus and unseating John Cena as the top guy.
On Mark Henry:
No doubt in my mind that I can get him up.
I think at the end of the night, when it’s all said and done, people are going to remember coming out of WrestleMania 29 is Ryback picking up Mark Henry over his head, marching around the ring, and 75,000 plus screaming, ‘Feed Me More.’
On his biggest goal:
It’s to take over the #1 position from John Cena and take over the company and I’m not shy about saying it. John, I respect him more than anyone, he’s a very hard working individual. He’s been on top for 8-10 years now and he’s been untouchable. I am the one guy that can touch him and I believe I can outsell him on merchandise, and I can do things he has not yet done.
On Nexus:
I’m the Al Bundy of Nexus, I think we’re still gonna have a run down the road.
