TNA News: Lockdown PPV, Monty Brown Update; Backstage News

In regards to the “all-cage” format at the TNA Lockdown PPV last month, the overwhelming opinion among many within the company was that the event was a huge success and big improvement over the previous two PPV events in February (Against All Odds) and March (Destination X).

After being rolled up and pinned by Sean Waltman in the Lethal Lockdown Six Man Match at the Lockdown PPV last month, Monty Brown was told to no-sell and get some of his heat back as the babyfaces in the match (Diamond Dallas Page, Sean Waltman & BG James) were beating on him after the match concluded.

Sonjay Dutt was scheduled to return to TNA at the Impact! tapings after the Lockdown PPV, but was brought in two days earlier to work the PPV in the “Xscape” Match replacing Kid Kash who was given his release that week. Dutt did work two of the Impact! tapings, but will be returning to the Zero-One promotion in Japan for a full month. Zero-One is where Dutt earns a majority of his money in wrestling, so he will be unavailable to work for TNA until the June PPV, which will be the company’s third year anniversary event titled Slammiversary. It should be noted that Dusty Rhodes didn’t know who Dutt was and it was because of other people that his return took place.
