This will be the first Lockdown to take place on pay-per-view since the company was under the TNA banner in 2014. IMPACT did have two other Lockdown events in 2015 and 2016, but those were taped and later aired on their television
Lockdown was a polarizing event among wrestling fans and personalities as every match took place inside a steel cage. Some talents and minds would argue that it takes away from the significance and allure of the gimmick in the first place, but there is an appeal that it does present for its fan base as well.
According to the IMPACT website, all matches will still take place inside of the cage:
“For newcomers to IMPACT Wrestling, Lockdown is an all-steel cage event. That’s right, each and every match will be contested inside the confines of a steel cage making for a night of danger, violence and even bloodshed. Viewer discretion is advised.”
Tickets will be available starting this Friday. Are you excited to see the return of Lockdown? Sound off in the comments below.
