John Cena Teases History-Making News At WWE Backlash

John Cena is coming to WWE Backlash to “break some history-making news.”

Following his appearance as the host of WrestleMania 42, John Cena will return to WWE television at this Saturday’s Backlash PLE in Tampa, Florida. Benchmark International Arena, which will host the event, advertised the legend’s appearance, and after previously dropping a tease, Cena himself confirmed it on X/Twitter.

John Cena recently revealed that his next chapter in WWE would be to play a significant role in the promotion’s new premium membership program, Club WWE. In his earlier tease, Cena mentioned he’s planning something epic at Backlash regarding the new initiative, and now, after months of planning, he’s ready to announce some history-making news.

Apart from John Cena’s appearance, WWE has announced five matches for Backlash so far, including two title contests.

  • Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker – Singles Match
  • IYO Sky vs. Asuka – Singles Match
  • Danhausen and a partner of his choosing vs. The Miz & Kit Wilson – Tag Team Match
  • Trick Williams (c) vs. Sami Zayn – Singles match for the WWE United States Championship
  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu – Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship
