John Cena just teased his next WWE appearance, and he dropped a tease of what might be in store for fans.
Cena made his on-air return as the host of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas this weekend. Cena appeared on both nights of the event, opening the show and sharing a humorous in-ring segment with Danhausen.
Complex acknowledged Cena’s birthday with a social media post about special day. Cena responded by quietly correcting the post (he was born April 23, 1977, which makes him 49, not 45). He also dropped a hint that he will be at WWE Backlash, which takes place at Benchmark International Arena (formerly Amalie Arena) in Tampa on May 9.
“Man if only it were 2023 again!! I might have different business at @WWE #Backlash Alas, the years pass,” John Cena wrote. “I am still gonna try to do something epic in Tampa for 5/9. I promised Club WWE something special… stay tuned.”
No matches or segments have been announced for WWE Backlash at this time.
