Kevin Nash shared his honest reaction to the Hulk Hogan docuseries and said he doesn’t like how his comments were framed.
Hulk Hogan: Real American was recently released on Netflix. It focused on the life of Hulk Hogan, also known as Terry Bollea. The docuseries covered his rise, injuries, and controversies. It also explored personal struggles and major moments from his career.
Nash was one of the names featured in the project, but he wasn’t happy with the final product.
Earlier this week, Ariel Helwani had already shared his thoughts, calling the documentary surface-level and not deep enough. Nash agreed with that view, revealing that his three-hour interview was cut down heavily and only a small portion made it into the final version.
Now, he also addressed how he was portrayed. This time, the focus shifted from just editing to how his words were presented.
Kevin Nash says one quote in the Hulk Hogan documentary made him look bad
Speaking on his Kliq THIS podcast, Nash explained his reaction. He said watching the documentary felt emotional for him. It brought back memories, but also frustration.
“I watched it over the last two nights. It made me really fu*king sad,” Nash explained. “I’ve got some quotes in it, but man, one quote makes me come across like such an assh*le. But there was a whole thing where I say that… it goes into the fact that I would have never gotten into this business had I not seen Hulk Hogan live and what an impact his charisma.”
Nash felt that line alone changed the tone. It made it seem like he was putting Hogan down.
“I was just like but what I say in that is I make the assumption when I see it, I’m bigger than him, I’m better looking, I’m more athletic. Fu*k I can definitely do this, which is like I’m almost shunning my buddy.”
“I understand also that it’s got to be so hard to use my quotes because I’m dropping f-bombs, and they leave them in the show. I think I say fu*k like I think I’m the leader in throwing f-bombs, and I’ve got like three clips.”
