Former WWE star Carmella reacts to AEW talent “stealing” her finishing move.
The April 25 episode of AEW Collision featured Kris Statlander defeating B3CCA in a singles match. During the contest, the latter used Carmella’s Code of Silence submission move on Statlander before the former AEW Women’s World Champion reversed it into the Saturday Night Fever for the win.
B3CCA has competed in AEW several times since 2021 and is known in the northeast/New England indie scene. She has also competed in MLW.
A fan shared a clip of the moment on X/Twitter, tagging Carmella. The former WWE Women’s Champion responded to the video, saying there’s a difference between paying homage and theft. She also teased a return to the ring to show everyone how it’s done.
“hmmm.. there’s a difference between homage and theft… I didn’t retire, I had two babies… might have to come back and show these bitches how it’s really done,” Carmella wrote.
Carmella last competed in WWE in March 2023. She had two children with commentator Corey Graves during her hiatus. She faced some complications after her first pregnancy, as she revealed that she had drop foot. Her contract expired in February 2025, marking her exit from the promotion.
Carmella opens up about her WWE departure
Speaking with Kail Lowry on Barely Famous last year, Carmella revealed that WWE usually freezes talents’ contracts when they are pregnant and that she even offered to contribute while she was sidelined.
“A handful of women have gotten pregnant while under contract and basically, they freeze your contract while you’re pregnant,” Carmella said. “They pay you, which is so incredible. They don’t have to pay you while you’re pregnant, and they paid me, and they’ve paid every woman who has been pregnant before under contract. I’m so grateful for that. I will say, I did offer to work when I was pregnant. ‘Please, I know I can’t wrestle, but let me go on the road. Let me do interviews. I’ll do kick-off shows. I’ll do panels. Let me contribute.’
“I didn’t want them to think I was cool sitting at home, getting paid, and not working. They were like, ‘No, stay at home, it’s fine.’ I did, I stayed at home, and they were really cool about it. Usually, what’s happened in the past with women who have been pregnant under contract is they have their baby, they recover, and every postpartum journey is so different. I don’t want to speak on anyone else’s recovery. Mine was obviously a lot more difficult because of the nerve damage with my foot. I let them know the day I had my son, ‘This is what happened, this is what’s going on,” Carmella said.
