Steve Maclin is finally back and ready to compete again after a scary incident at TNA Sacrifice 2026. The TNA star recently confirmed that he has been medically cleared to compete again, putting an end to weeks of uncertainty.
The injury happened early in his TNA World Championship match against Mike Santana. Everything seemed normal at first, but things quickly went wrong when Santana hit a superkick that appeared to knock Maclin out right away. He struggled to stand, and it was clear something wasn’t right.
Referee Alice Lane quickly threw up the “X” sign, which signals a real injury. The match was stopped and declared a no-contest as medical staff rushed in. Maclin was helped backstage and then taken to a hospital for further checks.
While all this was happening, Eddie Edwards ran in and started fighting Santana, keeping the storyline going. But the main concern was Maclin’s health.
Thankfully, things turned out better than expected. Later, TNA President Carlos Silva confirmed that he passed all the tests and didn’t suffer any major long-term injury.
Steve Maclin confirms he’s ready to compete again
Maclin said that a bad hit to his neck caused his body to temporarily shut down, despite being conscious.
After taking some time off, he returned to training in early April, showing that his recovery was going well. Then, finally, on April 22, he made it official. Maclin wrote on X, “AIN’T FOUND A WAY TO KILL ME YET. Cleared & ready to get back to work. Stevemaclinbookings@gmail.com.”
His return also makes things interesting in TNA right now. Santana has stayed active since the incident and is still involved in a feud with Edwards. He also picked up a win at TNA Rebellion 2026. Since Maclin never got a proper finish in that match, there is a good chance this rivalry is not over yet.
There is no official date yet for Maclin’s TNA return.
