Kyle O’Reilly Breaks Silence After AEW Return With Emotional Message

Kyle O’Reilly made a big return at AEW Dynasty, and it was an emotional moment for him.

O’Reilly had been away from AEW for months. His last match came at Full Gear 2025, where he defeated Jon Moxley. After that, he stayed off TV due to injuries. He took time to recover, but waited for the right moment to reappear.

Ahead of AEW Dynasty, he hinted at a comeback. He mentioned wanting to return for the Vancouver show. That tease got fans talking and at the pay-per-view, it finally happened. At AEW Dynasty, Roderick Strong appeared in a unique segment.

He walked out during a sitcom-style setup. He then woke up Orange Cassidy and hinted that someone was coming. Moments later, O’Reilly made his entrance in a 80s sitcoms style.

During the AEW Dynasty post-show media scrum, Kyle O’Reilly shared how much the moment meant to him. He said, “Absolutely unbelievable feeling. To hold gold in his company, where the best wrestle. That means the absolute world to me. To do it with friends. Friends pick you up.”

He then revealed how difficult the past month had been. I don’t know if anybody knows, but it’s been a challenging month for myself,” he said, referring to the loss of his father. “To be here with a smile on my face with my buddies by my side and gold around my waist, doing a dream job, there are no words.” [H/T: ewrestlingnews.co]

O’Reilly teamed with Strong and Cassidy at the event. Together, they won the AEW Trios Titles by defeating their opponents, The Dogs. The match might have seen an audible thrown in the mix due to an apparent injury to Gabe Kidd.
