More details have emerged on Chris Jericho’s new contract with AEW.
Following months of speculation surrounding his status with the company and rumors of a potential WWE return, Chris Jericho returned to AEW on the April 1 episode of Dynamite. He then addressed his return on the following week’s episode and signed his contract during the segment.
Now, Fightful (via Fightful Select) is reporting that Chris Jericho is indeed All Elite again, and that he and AEW came to an agreement with an extension in the last month or so. While they noted they’re working on getting additional details, Fightful did mention that Tony Khan confirmed Jericho has signed a multi-year deal.
While Chris Jericho’s original AEW contract went through 2025, the promotion had extended it because of the time he spent away from television. The report also notes that Jericho and WWE did have conversations, and the promotion was interested in bringing him in for a retirement run. He had also reportedly told others at the end of 2025 that he was open to returning to WWE, but thought the company would try to have him end some of his outside projects.
Some wrestlers have also reportedly been trying to find out the details of Chris Jericho’s deal. And as far as him being referred to as “Jericho” is concerned, Fightful reports that it’s on his insistence and that he will still be referred to as “Chris Jericho” at times on AEW television.
Chris Jericho will take on Ricochet in his first match back in AEW at the Dynasty pay-per-view later tonight.
