An All Elite Wrestling star who recently changed up his gimmick has confirmed the move in a batch of social media posts.
Lio Rush made a shocking appearance at AEW Revolution this past weekend, debuting a new persona that seemed entirely different to his previous self. While he didn’t talk about it much, Rush did take to social media to share photos of himself, to seemingly confirm his new “Blackheart” persona while also teasing that “he” is listening, whoever that may be.
During AEW’s Revolution, Rush competed in the 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal for the AEW National Championship, currently held by Ricochet. Rush’s sudden appearance in the ring startled the commentary team, who compared him to a fast-moving Gollum (of Lord of the Rings fame).
Rush was bald and had white contacts in. He galloped around the ring on all fours before leaping through the ropes to hit a dive on several of the competitors. One fan compared Rush’s movement to that of a chupacabra, while another asked if Rush might be returning to a “Wild Child” gimmick.
