Lio Rush Debuts Scary New Look At AEW Revolution

Lio Rush made quite the impression at AEW Revolution.

Fans are used to seeing Lio Rush with hair and trunks, but he appeared in Los Angeles with a dramatically different look on Sunday night. Rush competed in the 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal for the AEW National Championship, currently held by Ricochet.

Rush’s sudden appearance in the ring startled the commentary team, who compared him to a fast-moving Gollum (of Lord of the Rings fame).

Rush was bald and had white contacts in. He galloped around the ring on all fours before leaping through the ropes to hit a dive on several of the competitors.

One fan compared Rush’s movement to that of a chupacabra, while another asked if Rush might be returning to a “Wild Child” gimmick.

This is certainly a dramatically new look for Lio Rush in AEW, but he has gone down a more theatrical route in the past. Rush previously competed as the “Black Heart” on the independent scene, although he still had hair and different face and body paint for that run.

Ricochet and Jack Perry were the final two competitors in the match. Perry went up top, but Ricochet caught him and put him in a fireman’s carry on the apron. Perry reversed and hit a reverse rana off the apron, eliminating Ricochet to win the title!
