Britt Baker comments on her ongoing absence from AEW.
AEW fans haven’t seen Baker on television since November 2024. Her last match for the company took place on the November 13, 2024 episode of Dynamite, when she defeated Penelope Ford.
Baker’s AEW absence has been a topic of speculation since then, with fans wondering why she’s not on TV and when she’ll return. For the most part, Baker has remained quiet amid her hiatus. However, she finally broke her silence with a response to a fan’s post during the AEW Revolution pay-per-view.
AEW Revolution has seen the returns of Adam Copeland, Christian Cage and Will Ospreay, and the AEW debut of Ronda Rousey. One fan pointed out that there’s one big return “staring us in the face,” alluding to Britt Baker.
The D.M.D. responded to the post, hinting that her return to AEW isn’t her decision.
“Not up to me,” Baker wrote on Twitter/X.
Tony Khan has said he expects Britt Baker back in AEW
Tony Khan has been asked about Baker’s absence for months. During a recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Khan addressed Baker’s status. He said that although he expects her back in the company, he does not want to give a definite timeline.
“I really like Britt (Baker) a lot and I think there’s so many exciting things happening in the women’s division. Britt’s somebody I really like and respect a lot and definitely think as we’ve evolved with more tag teams and singles wrestling opportunities now across multiple shows, now that we have four hours of TV with Dynamite and Collision, I think there’s gonna be more and more opportunities. You’re seeing I’m signing a lot more young wrestlers and Britt’s still somebody very highly regarded and respected here in AEW. So, I would expect to see Britt back in AEW. I just don’t wanna say when.”
Baker was recently asked if she was retired from wrestling by Adam Glyn. Baker wouldn’t commit to being retired, but teased that fans should stay tuned. During the same interview, Baker also said she was not a full-time dentist anymore due to getting death threats from fans.
