The March 10 episode of WWE NXT recorded a steep drop in TV viewership, continuing the brand’s up-and-down ratings trend in recent weeks.
The episode started with NXT Women’s North American Champion, Tatum Paxley, and her heated interaction with Izzi Dame, which set up a major match for next week.
Later in the show, a triple-threat match featured Sean Legacy and Eli Knight defeating Jasper Troy. Keanu Carver interfered and attacked Troy during the fight.
In tag team action, Birthright defeated Tavion Heights and Charlie Dempsey. The match also featured a surprise appearance from two wrestling veterans and Charlie Dempsey’s betrayal of Tavion Heights.
Elsewhere, Tony D’Angelo delivered a promo saying he plans to challenge for the NXT Championship.
The second hour featured Sol Ruca defeating Lainey Reid. The show also included the finals of the WWE Women’s Speed Championship No. 1 Contender’s Tournament, where Wren Sinclair defeated Thea Hail to earn a future title opportunity.
The main event featured a tag team match where Ricky Saints and Ethan Page defeated Myles Borne and Joe Hendry.
WWE NXT Draws Under 500,000 Viewers for March 10 Episode
According to Wrestlenomics, the show drew 541,000 viewers on The CW. That number is lower than the 604,000 viewers from March 3.
The program also recorded a small decline in the 18-49 demographic. The March 10 broadcast posted a 0.08 rating in that group, slightly down from the 0.09 rating it achieved the week before. While the drop is not huge, it still shows how the show’s weekly numbers continue to fluctuate.
One possible reason for the lower viewership was regional preemption. In some markets, including Chicago, the show did not air as scheduled because of live storm coverage.
However, even with the ratings dip, the episode featured some important storyline developments following NXT Vengeance Day. The show was broadcast from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.
