A big moment happened on the March 11 episode of AEW Dynamite when Konosuke Takeshita hinted at a possible babyface turn just days before his important match at AEW Revolution. The moment took place during the opening tag team match.
The match featured Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli facing Hechicero and Takeshita. It was an important match, especially because Moxley is scheduled to defend the AEW Continental Championship against Takeshita at Revolution.
The tag team match was fast and physical as expected. Near the end of the match, Castagnoli took advantage of a moment when the referee was almost knocked out. He poked Hechicero in the eye and rolled him up to score the pinfall and secure the win.
However, the chaos continued even after the match ended.
Right after the bell, members of the Don Callis Family rushed into the ring. Mark Davis, Lance Archer, Takeshita, and Hechicero attacked Moxley, Castagnoli, and Marina Shafir.
The group then isolated Moxley, gave Takeshita a steel chair, and gave him a perfect chance to hurt his opponent before their title match.
But things took an unexpected turn.
Konosuke Takeshita Hints at Babyface Turn
Takeshita looked unsure about what to do as he stared at Moxley. In the end, he chose not to hit him. On commentary, Bryan Danielson said that Takeshita wanted to face Moxley at his best instead of attacking him while he was vulnerable.
Not only this, Konosuke Takeshita even stopped Davis from hitting Moxley with the chair. This hinted that Takeshita might turn babyface soon, and he might no longer agree with the Don Callis Family’s tactics.
Later, Don Callis ran to the ring and told his group to back off.
Recent storylines have already hinted at tension between Takeshita and Callis, and this hesitation may be a sign that he could soon turn babyface.
