CM Punk is having a great time in his return to WWE. However, there’s one thing he hates about the modern-day product.
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk recently spoke to O’Shea Jackson Jr. and TJ Jefferson on a special episode of No-Contest Wrestling Podcast at WWE headquarters during the WWE 2K26 Creator Fest Event. When asked about the move he hates taking, Punk responded that he is not a fan of taking bumps on the new commentary tables.
WWE introduced the new table last year at the RAW on Netflix premiere, and the commentators have mentioned several times how it’s reinforced and sturdier than the old version. Punk was not wrong when he said it’s not easy to take bumps on the table. JD McDonagh suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung after bouncing off it last year, and Bron Breakker recently suffered a hernia trying to flip it.
“Those new tables of ours. Not the composite tables, although those will cut you to ribbons. It’s not wood anymore. It’s like this pressed, you know what I mean? All tables used to be wood, like you’re just going through them. These things, I don’t know, it’s like they’re made of asbestos or something. The commentators’ tables. They’re pretty rotten,” CM Punk said.
CM Punk reluctantly gave Seth Rollins a compliment
During his recent appearance on ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike, CM Punk put his long-standing beef with Seth Rollins aside to pay the Visionary a compliment. He pointed out the similarities in their journey and how they both became world champions despite not having the prototypical muscular physiques when they debuted.
“Seth Rollins is a great example of that. He’s a guy who fit the same mold I did. He didn’t have the size. You wouldn’t look at him and think, ‘Oh yeah, he’s a world champion.’ Now he’s a multiple-time heavyweight champion and, as much as it pains me to say it, one of the greatest superstars of the last 10 or 12 years,” CM Punk said.
