A special celebration for AJ Styles is officially scheduled for next week’s episode of WWE RAW.
Styles said a while back that 2026 would be it. His last match came at the same place where it all began for him in WWE the Royal Rumble. 2016 which was a full circle moment. This year at the Royal Rumble, he put everything on the line against Gunther.
Gunther didn’t hesitate as he locked in the sleeper hold for the win. Thus officially bringing Styles’ legendary career to an end. Notably, Gunther had also retired John Cena just one month earlier.
Following Styles’ retirement WWE reportedly tried to sign Styles to a contract extension before the Royal Rumble, but the two sides could not reach an agreement. Still, even after walking away, Styles didn’t slam the door shut completely. On What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, he said, “Never say never.”
For weeks, there was no word on any on-screen celebration for Styles. However, that changed on WWE RAW earlier this week when the company announced that a tribute to Styles will take place next Monday at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
New Details reported ahead of AJ Styles’ tribute segment
Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, to his subscribers that the tribute will feature superstars from both RAW and SmackDown. He wrote, “Smackdown talent being flown to RAW this week for the AJ celebration.”
At this time, WWE has not revealed specific creative plans for the tribute segment. Next week’s WWE RAW will also feature an appearance by Brock Lesnar, along with the final qualifying matches for both the men’s and women’s Elimination Chamber matches.
